Your Opportunity The IT Technical Director - Business Applications is an innovative thought leader and trusted advisor within the Finance, Human Resources and Livestock Production/Accounting areas at Smithfield Foods. They oversee all aspects of technology solutioning, projects, delivery and support for business primarily focused within our Finance/Corporate areas. This role will be the primary technology leader. Core Responsibilities Overall responsibility for solutioning/support of solutions related to various functional groups. Working with the Business Relationship Managers (BRM), serves as the Technical linkage between the various Business departments and IT. Serves as the escalation point for issues within assigned functional groups. Brings IT innovation to all of areas of Operations within assigned functional groups processes. Performs research, supports pilots, and investigates potential solutions to help anticipate the business needs and communicates solution recommendations that support business requirements to business partners. Participates in identifying, assessing and promoting the use of new technologies for increased productivity or new capabilities for the business. Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects and initiatives. Proactively identifies opportunities (to leverage technology) to create business values or reduce production costs. Drives technology and business process innovation within and across the global organization ensuring continuity Focuses on strategic initiatives and plans, proactive, anticipatory, and driving in nature and provides significant value-solution to BRM/business units. Facilitates the planning and execution of business changes through the use of technology. Manages business relationships and projects across teams, vendors and 3rd party providers. Oversees prioritization and delivery of solutions for area(s) of ownership ensuring value realization. Collaborates with the BRM/business to define the strategy for integrating systems by providing a technology perspective, influencing and ensuring alignment of IT strategy with business strategy. Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 10
years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Minimum of 7
years' experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required. Broad business applications experience preferably in the Consumer Products, Food Manufacturing and/or Agribusiness, preferred. In depth experience in SAP and/or JDEdwards. Proven project management experience working with mid-sized to large projects People management and development experience Strong communications, influencing and partnering skills Ability to work with Vendors and Corporate partners on delivery execution and providing cost effective- high quality solutions Extensive experience partnering with all levels of the organization Conversant and abreast of the latest technological advances (Ex:
RPA, AI, Machine Learnings, OCR, etc.) in the relevant line of business areas Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities Will have Technical Service Managers (TSM) reporting to support the assigned functional groups, will also be responsible for directly working with Technical/Business Analysts, contractors and outside vendors. Provides leadership and guidance to employees within IT. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+

Technology ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
