The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing and conducting all maintenance tasks at Wilbur-Ellis?s two Pet Nutrition locations in St.
Joseph, Mo.
This role is Monday- Friday from 7AM ? 3:
30PM, the location is flexible if an earlier start time of 6 AM is needed.
Occasional on-call time may be required but only in emergency situations.
In this role, you will be a team of one both creating a preventive maintenance program and leading the ongoing maintenance and repairs for the production locations.
The position will be responsible for fabrication, electrical, preventive maintenance program and upkeep, and other maintenance tasks that are necessary to keep each facility running at optimal capacity and efficiency.
This position will be the main point of contact for operations staff to solve problems with equipment and building issues.

Qualifications:
At least 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or other related fields, with an Associate Degree or Technical Degree in a pertinent field as a bonusWorking knowledge of manufacturing environments or other manufacturing experienceGeneral understanding of Preventative Maintenance programs and how to implement these in a manufacturing facilityAbility to multi-task and problem-solve in manufacturing environmentsExperience using Microsoft computer productsAbility to implement and oversee company policyAbility to evaluate mechanical problems and implement solutionsAbility to lift up to 55 lbs.
Ability to travel to both locations within St.
Joseph on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and good driving record are requiredNo known fear of heights and ability to climb laddersPreferred- experience and skills in many facets of industrial operations, including; welding, electrical, bearings, chains, shafts, belts, electric motors, etc.

Basic Welding and Electrical certifications or experience preferredMechanical knowledge of processing equipment such as mixers, screw conveyors, hammer mills, and grain legs preferred?Key Personal Attributes:

Oversee and conduct all maintenance tasks for both Ameri-Mill and Ameri-Pac locations in St.
JosephTravel between both facilities in St.
Joseph and to and from vendorsWork with location management personnel to coordinate major equipment repair, monitor parts inventory levels, and maintain written machinery maintenance SOPsCreate and coordinate preventative maintenance programs to meet mechanical needs and ensure compliance with quality standardsConfer with operations management teams as it pertains to equipment breakdowns and potential issues with our facilitiesHandle fabrication duties for various small projects within each facilityFollow up on any and all corrective actions that require maintenance oversiteRespond quickly to emergency maintenance situations and provide contractor oversite when needed to provide a solutionWork directly with contractors to insure 3rd?party work is completed safely and meets quality specificationsOversee and manage equipment list and assess new equipment for preventative maintenance needs and failure pointsAssist safety and quality teams when needed to ensure compliance with regulatory rules and regulationsServe as a member of the Food Safety TeamParticipate in any and all training that is required for the roleResponsible for reporting mechanical and electrical problems to management, up to and including stopping a production lineEnsure compliance with all Food Safety Guidelines, Ameri-Pac work rules, Ameri-Pac Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, as well as Federal and State laws governing the workplaceOther duties as assigned?Compensation and

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $18.
51 - $23.
