Procurement Tech

Job DescriptionThis position has primary responsibility for the movement of noncapital purchase requests from initiator to supplier, to point of delivery, while ensuring all approval levels are met.
This position is also responsible for receiving and coordinating placement of emergency purchase requests.
Additionally this position is responsible for resolving discrepant invoices that come in for the purchase orders that are placed.
This position may include other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager, which support the Division of Material Management.
The successful candidate must be able to produce and/or complete a variety of documents according to division standards.
This position will interact with vendors, and our customers, using tact and diplomacy to communicate clearly and accurately while showing patience and courtesy when working with people.
Additionally, excellent follow up skills are required.
This position requires extensive use of a PC and the telephone system.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
