Corporate Counsel
Overview:
Ferrellgas has an open Corporate Counsel position.
This is a mid-level attorney who assists with the legal affairs for Ferrellgas and its subsidiaries.
The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for general corporate matters, contract drafting and negotiation, real estate transactions and commercial leasing advice, negotiation, and drafting, and M&A.
Requires a Juris Doctorate degree with 4-6 years of applicable law experience.

Responsibilities:
Provides in-house legal services and support to all departments to ensure alignment with business goals.
Draft, review and negotiate a variety of general commercial contracts.
Reviews, drafts, and advises on a variety of agreements including transactional agreements for acquisitions, commercial leases, and real estate transactions.
Provides oversight and review for National Account Agreements, RFPs, NDAs, etc.
Manages outside counsel in appropriate situations.
Researches and anticipates legal issues that could impact the company.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
4-6 years applicable law experience.
Bar qualification in Missouri, or ability to become licensed to practice law in Missouri.
A thorough understanding of commercial contracts, real estate transactions and lease documents, and a broad range of experience in other legal areas.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with sound business judgment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiating skills.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed, flexible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction while keeping business partners informed Keen attention to detail.
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional service orientation.
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
