Structural Bridge Engineer

Looking for an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer to work with our staff of registered Professional Engineers for bridge design and inspection, plans preparation, and load rating analysis.
The design tasks will be completed using AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges, and State Design guidelines.
General Duties & Responsibilities include the following.

Prepares and directs Bridge Design, contract plans preparation, and specifications requiring quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets and schedules Organizes and develops project team to execute specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and project inspection.
Must be able to delegate.
Maintaining organized design calculation and project data Performing load ratings analysis Calculation of quantities and development of cost estimates The position may require the engineer to take part in bridge inspection assignments as an Inspection Team Member and prepare bridge inspection reports documenting inspection findings.
Work with contractor or other consultants to develop demolition and erection plans, temporary sheeting, cofferdam designs, and temporary supports Reviews project design for general compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and manpower, resolving engineering design problems.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Shows understanding of team management, develops project scope of work, estimating manpower needs, prepare CPM schedules, and tracks project progress.
Assures that the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.
Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside his organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
Develop and present proposals to clients.
Directs the inspection of construction site to monitor progress and ensure general conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Plans and executes project meeting.
May negotiate a difficult project issue with the client, such as scope changes or schedule acceleration.
Assures the project meets quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
Interprets changes in the contract and advises management on needed changes.
May set up and perform a client marketing meeting.
Maintain professional, technical, and supervisory skills by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineering 8-10 years of design experience with exposure to a variety of engineering projects and a good understanding of project management concepts.
Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and various engineering software systems depending on engineering discipline:
AutoCAD; MicroStation/GeoPak; In Roads, Land Desktop, and Civil 3D.

What wed prefer for you to bring to our firm:
Master degree in civil/structural engineering Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience in new bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, and/or inspection of bridges Experience with common commercial structural software.
Experience with movable bridges Experience with rail bridges Experience with MODOT or KDOT and design build Recommended Skills Accounting Construction Data Collection Engineering Design Process Fact Checking Financial Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
