This position will sit in our Pitney Bowes Mail Services business unit. This business unit helps customers earn the best possible discounts on First-Class and Standard postage with our presort services, doing work the U.S. Post Service would otherwise have to perform. This service spans the globe with international offerings, ranging from mail preparation and fulfillment to courier and freight services.
We are currently seeking a Sr. Technician. The right candidate will be an integral part of our talented team, supporting our continued growth. This position will be located in our Kansas City, MO location.
Provides technical support to production equipment in an Operating Center under the direction of the Lead Technician or Regional Technical Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment.
Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment.
Completes preventative maintenance according to TQM and vendor operating standards.
Responds to equipment break down or emergency situations with urgency and expediency.
Consistently utilizes InforEAM and maintains the spare parts/supply inventory.
Evaluates and assesses equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
Communicates and/or escalates serious equipment issues to the Lead Technician
Attends appropriate technical training classes
Studies, reviews and utilizes vendor technical manuals, publications or updates, as needed, to remain familiar with all changes or modifications to equipment.
Trains, assists and guides other site technicians
Assists other PBPS locations with moving and/or installing of equipment as needed.
Responds to a pager/cell phone during on-call periods or during emergency situations.
Regular attendance

Essential Functions:
Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
Have the ability to lift up to 50 #'s. walk, stand and/or sit for long periods of time with or without accomocation?
Ability to communicate clearly, explain equipment maintenance or repair needs to management technicians and other employees.
Must work well with others in a team environment
Must be able to take instruction or direction
The ability to read and follow schematics
Ability to use basic electrical/electronic testing equipment
Successful completion of Electronics course work usually provided in a program at a trade school or community college. AA degree in Electronics, Computer Science or related field of study is preferred.
Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment.
Minimum of three year of experience in maintaining, repairing, or installing mailing or comparable equipment.
Monday - Friday, 40hrs. 1st and/or 2nd shift flexible schedule, starting $19-$25 based on applicable experience
Based on operational need, must have the ability to work a flexible schedule (open to working any of the 3 shifts, holiday's and/or weekends) and overtime as required with or without advance notice

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
