Job Summary
The data analyst job family provides the data modeling, data analysis, and data validation functions in support of application development, data analytics, and business analysis projects.
Key Activities
Conducts Data Profiling and Data Quality analysis using SQL or other query based analysis.
Creates and executes data quality test cases and analyzes results for improvement recommendations.
Develops simple or moderately complex Interface or Extract mapping specifications.
Develop scripts to validate ETL loads and ensuring they match specifications.
Develops necessary reports, analyses and recommendations as directed. Interacts with developers to ensure they have an understanding of the data model.
Maintains conceptual and logical data models along with corresponding metadata.
Develops best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Four years of experience in an Information Technology role related to data validation.
Moderate skill in SQL database query language required.
Moderate skill in scripting using Korn shell and/or Python,
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Proficient computer skills in programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail programs. Expand to more sophisticated MIS tools - MS Access and internal and System business applications.
Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Customer service orientation.
Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three or more years of United States residency from the date of legal entry to the United States is required for this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
