JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for updating, production, and release of third-party HTML documentation content included in the digital tax software product lines (TaxCut, Emerald, Super C and DeductionPro). This library includes over 500 pieces of documentation.
JOB DUTIES
Deliver final updated third party content (tax content obtained from outside sources) in HTML format for the H&R; Block digital tax products (TaxCut, Emerald, Super C , DeductionPro and TPS) product lines. This would include, but not be limited to, Kiplinger files, State Instructions, IRS Instructions and Publications. (40%)
Responsible for ensuring that forms and instructions are obtained from the IRS and state taxing agencies in a timely manner and distributed to the various internal groups. Responsible for ensuring that the Forms Database is updated in a timely manner to reflect forms development and approval status. (15%)
Utilize software tools to analyze content files to identify changes from previous years' versions. (15%)
Convert source files which are in various formats including (PDF, MS Word, SGML, etc) into HTML using our software tools and processes. (10%)
Add additional HTML/XML tags and links for search and context-sensitivity features into the HTML instruction files, that will be part of the reference material and Help system in the various product lines. (10%)
Proofread and review content for accuracy. Check links and formatting. (10%)
Other tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in graphic design and production, web design, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
Five years experience producing print and online documentation.
Three years experience with HTML, XML and PDF files. Must be able to code HTML in a text editor.
Proficiency with desktop publishing software.
Demonstrated ability to work and meet deadlines.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
