Transportation Assistant

The Transportation Assistant is under the supervision of Business Operations Service (BOS) and collaborates with the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the VTS program. Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts. Collects request data and verifies for complete information. Schedules services based on requests received. Enters information into an established database for service tracking. Utilizes knowledge of clinical services for effective follow-up. Utilization of computer equipment, software and programs. Transportation Assistant/#2336A To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/08/2020. Time-In-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:
Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Specialized Experience, GS-06:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, (GS-05), in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
Interacts with various transportation service personnel, medical staff and patients to create daily transportation schedule. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of a transportation service. Answers questions/resolve concerns with patients, family members, medical staff. Collects, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of patient transportation. Enters and extracts data from specialized software program to create schedule and for various reports. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude and collective reasoning to overcome. The incumbent is subject to a great deal of stress because of the high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever changing demands due to program changes. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
