Investigative Analyst

Conducts basic analysis to detect trends and gathers information to prepare informational reports Uses a variety of investigative databases to conduct routine intelligence-related tasks in support of ongoing investigative, inspection and/or intelligence activities Provides a variety of administrative and office support services for the operation of the office to include receiving/screening incoming calls, visitors and deliveries; making travel arrangements, maintaining schedules and calendars Responds to inquiries on routine matters (e.g. status of reports, duty status of personnel, suspense dates for required reports, etc.) Composes non-technical correspondence and proofreads Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses. To qualify for GS-7 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05). Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include compiling and analyzing data, conducting research and analysis data, gathering and assembling material for use in reports and presentations, coordinating and making travel arrangement; composing correspondence related to administrative support functions; providing guidance and recommendations regarding administrative policies and procedures; and using computers software to input and extract information from databases. The GS-07 Step 1 salary range for St. Louis, MO starts at $43,885 per year. The GS-07 Step 1 salary range for Kansas City, MO starts at $43,691 per year. If you are a new federal (civil service) employee, your starting salary will be set at the Step 1 for this position and the grade level for which you are selected. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
